West Crete Tour
The tour starts with a visit at the monastery of Arkadi, the most celebrated Cretan monastery and a monument to the dignity and spirit of the Cretans. Arkadi Monastery is a place so beautiful and yet so deeply marked with the Cretan struggle for freedom and helps you understand Cretans’ characterand history.
The trip continues to Chania, the first capital of modern Crete, with its picturesque Venetian harbour. After lunch, we wonder through the «leather street» and the market hall, which offers typical Cretan products. Our next stop will be Akrotiri, where the Venizelos’ family grave is located, with an imposing view of the city and the surrounding countryside.
In the afternoon, we will visit the romantic little town of Rethymnon with its mysterious, pedestrian-only old town.
